Who can join?
Any child aged 5 years or older who can either swim or is taking swimming lessons.
Our U7 to U12 teams are mixed-gender.
Our teams at U14, U16 and senior are single gender (boys).
swimmers only?
If you are aged under 11 you don’t have to be able to swim but you should also be taking swimming lessons.
If you are aged 11 and over, you must be able to swim at least 50m (2 lengths) in two different strokes.
If you are a senior player you must be an experienced and confident swimmer.
When and where?
We have sessions in the Grove Leisure Centre and the Falls Leisure Centre.
Details of our training sessions are available on our training page.
Can I try it out?
We offer free taster sessions to anyone who is interested. Click here to request a taster session.
You will come to a session and we will assess your ability before placing you with a group. You’ll work on your swimming and be playing with the ball before long.
The taster session is free. If you’d like to come back we’ll ask you to fill out a registration form and speak to you about fees.
How do I join?
If you want to commit to training and playing for the club, fill out a registration form.
We have a document setting out fees. If you’d like to know more, contact us or get in touch with a coach.
What do I need?
A swim suit (remember, shorts slow you down and make it difficult to kick effectively).
Goggles.
A swim hat if you have long hair (we can provide one, if necessary).
Why water polo?
It’s a great work out that improves strength, fitness and flexibility.
It strengthens the mind too as you need to appreciate tactics and commit to training.
It develops team work and leadership skills.
It’s for people of all abilities.
