(1-4)(1-2)(4-2)(3-2)

Setanta senior men got their National League Division 1 season up and running with a 9-10 win over North Dublin on Saturday evening at the National Aquatic Centre, Dublin.

Despite failing to convert an early penalty, the visitors got off to a flying start and finished the first quarter 1-4  up after goals from Michael Dempsey, Cathal Fitzpatrick, Brendan Campfield and Declan McKerr.

The second quarter saw Eamon Kerr get his name on the score sheet twice while continuing to put in an impressive display in hole back position, the quarter finishing 2-6.

Setanta saw their performance dip in the third quarter with North Dublin scoring four, Declan Mckerr replying with two for the visitors to leave Setanta 6-8 up going into the final quarter.

A great goal from Michael Dempsey put Setanta three goals clear early in the quarter before Ronan McClean scored from a man up to put four goals between the two teams. North Dublin finished well, capitalising on a strong full press to score two goals on the break before converting a penalty with 43 seconds to go to draw within one goal of Setanta. The visitors held on to record their first win of the season.
