Summer 2019
Cú Chulainn Water Polo Club and Diamonds Water Polo are partnering this summer to provide training and development for new and current players at R.B.A.I. school pool in Belfast.
Supported by Belfast City Council, we have sourced some of Ulster’s best coaches to develop swimming capabilities in junior players and to introduce younger players to mini-polo.
You’ll find everything you need to know below or on the summer session factsheet.
Junior
The sessions for junior water polo players are aimed at U15 and U17 players (aged 13 to 17) who can swim a minimum of four lengths. The focus is on swim development with an introduction to land based exercise.
Participation is restricted to current members of Diamonds and Cú Chulainn or swimmers who would like to play for either team in the coming season.
The lead coach is Steven McQuillan. Steven is an experienced swimming coach as well as the owner and head coach at CrossFit Castrum. He is a Swim Ireland Level 3 Swim Coach with over 12 years’ experience of coaching and works with athletes from many sports including Commonwealth Games Athletes.
Sessions are in the afternoon and start at 1.45pm. Each lasts for 1h 45min with 15 minutes of land based exercise followed by 1h 30mins of swim development.
